Study on Biochemical Changes Occurred in Ancylostoma Spp. Infected Dogs at Anand District, Gujarat, India

The biochemical changes in Ancylostomosis in dogs were observed during study period. Ancylostomosis affects the biochemical values of the host. A total number of 50 infected and 50 non-infected serum samples were collected and studied. The biochemical profile included Total protein, Albumin, Globulin, A:G ratio, Alkaline Phosphatase (AKP), Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and Total Bilirubin levels of infected and non-infected dogs and the results are significantly reduction in the values of total serum protein (5.420 ± 0.034g/dl), total albumin (2.462 ± 0.034 g/dl), A:G ratio (0.843 ± 0.024) and alkaline phosphatase (28.026 ± 0.292 IU/L) and increased in AST/ SGOT (41.196 ± 0.413 IU/L), total globulin (3.518 ± 0.562 g/dl), ALT/ SGPT (53.406 ± 1.221 IU/L) and total bilirubin (0.601 ± 0.010IU/L) level reported.
